THANKS FOR MAKING THE 100TH BIRTHDAY AN EVENT TO REMEMBER

Over 100 people came to the event. We successfully reminded and solidified the creative spirit of the waterfront. Plus we raised  $2194 towards the Structural engineering plans!

THE CHARLES VAN DAMME FERRY  100yr BIRTHDAY BASH
It's a celebration of many things.
  • 1. The Ferry's centennial ( it was built in 1916 in Benicia) The Charles van Damme ferry sailed across the bay before the Richmond Bridge was built. It became 2 restaurants, a music venue and a local hangout. The paddle wheel and steamstack are all that now remain.
  • 2. 10 years of the Charles Van Damme ferry project. Creating awareness, raising seed money, and saving the Charles Van Damme Ferrys 100yr old paddlewheel & steam stack from demolition.
  • 3. We are also celebrating County approval & permits for the Charles van Damme ferry artifacts to be restored and exhibited back in its original resting place in the new state mandated park at Waldo Point harbor.
  • Help us maintain 100 yrs of waterfront history to inspire the generations to come.
  • Dance to live Music at the Sausalito Seahorse. Joe Tate & the Hippie Voices, Jerry Hannan, Fiver Brown and Pacifico with Harmonic Law will be performing
  • Keep the AARGH! In the Waterfront. Naughtical behavior encouraged ( Naughty & Nautical dress & attitude celebrated)
  • Group photo: Bruce Forrester will take group photo to commemorate this event.
  • Oral History Video Booth. Tell your story about the Charles Van Damme ferry.

Fiver Brown

  • Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Fiver Brown brings a unique combination of soul and songwriting to the Bay Area. Either solo or with his mighty band, he sets feet to stomping all around California with his insightful lyrics and soulful, bluesy voice. He resides in Sausalito on his houseboat that resembles a Potato Chip.

Jerry Hannan
  • http://jerryhannan.com/
  • Described as "shades of Dylan and John Prine ...very Americana with a faint Irish lilt", Hannan's songs speak of our everyday lives and the magic that we sometimes miss. He's a storyteller, known for his thought provoking lyrics and exuberant performances.
Pacifico Samonte and Harmonic Law
  • https://www.facebook.com/HarmonicLawBand/
  • Pacifico is passionate musician and works on the ferries himself. Our very own waterfront musical treasure. There isnt a band locally he hasn't played guitar for. Recently returned from Whisky a go go with his band Harmonic Law. They are changing the rules of the game and taking us all by storm.
